Erin33
you see the line going threw the head? What is that?
RWB
Looks like a minor surface stain on a proof dime. Very common.
Greenstang
Looks like a slight stain, it’s not indented. It might come off with acetone, depending on what caused it.
Sandon
It's probably a streak of toning, which acetone wouldn't remove. Such toning is normal for silver coins. The coin appears to be a proof. Mike Meenderink
powermad5000
Appears to be a proof Roosy. Do you know what the coin was previously stored in? It appears to be a surface stain, but I agree with @Sandon. Whether or not it is a toning stain, or some other kind of stain say from what it was stored in, I think if you made any attempt to remove the stain that you will permanently damage the surface and ruin the coin. Even at PF 69, the value for one of these in the price guide is only $75 (it does not look like even a Cameo) and I don't think it would grade as a 69. If the stain bothers you, I would sell this coin and find a better specimen as they are basically cheap enough to acquire one easily that does not have the stain. LOCK34
Looks like a chemical stain caused when a rubber band is around the box or envelope that the coin was stored in. Fenntucky Mike
