Interesting markings 1 1

Hi! I was sorting through my coins to roll them up and came across a dime that has “cut markings”. Can this be a printing error or worth more than face value? From what I can tell It’s “ D, with 1973”

Welcome to the forum.  This is just damage, someone made cuts with something like wire cutters.

Yea, agreed it's not a mint error as that is just damage from some type of cutting tool with no added value. I ceased to be amazed long ago at what people will do to coins. And so you know, coins are not printed, they are struck at a coining press or machine.

As noted, just a damaged dime, probably intentional.   
Still worth 10 cents, even in that condition.

I agree as well that this is intentional damage, either made by an unsuccessful attempt to cut the coin or it was put in some type of pinch holder. There is nothing in the mint process that would produce that effect.

And for future reference, bills are printed, coins are struck.
