1973 penny weighs 2.49 grams 1 1

I found a 1973 Philly penny that weighs 2.49 grams. I was wondering if i should send it in to get it graded and see why it weighs that much. Any thought would be appreciated.

It is impossible to answer your question with such limited information or at least photos.   Also this section of the forum is for inquires about the NGC registry, general questions like yours will be seen by more members of the forum if posted to the Newbie or US coin sections of this forum.   I have flagged it for the mods to move it to the correct area.
