JPSilver
I purchased this direct from the mint and after imaging, I noticed the rims. The denticles on one side appear to be "sliced" in half and on the other side they go into the rim. I am not sure what caused this or if it could be considered an error. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

VKurtB
With my tongue only slightly in cheek, the only error on these was MAKING THEM. Henri Charriere
Popular Post Sandon
Welcome to the NGC chat board. This coin appears to have some light strike doubling (a.k.a. machine doubling or mechanical doubling), which results from dies being loose in the press. You can also see this slight, "shelf-like" doubling on the obverse stars. This is considered to be a quality control issue rather than a mint error and adds no value to the coin. It is distressing to see it on a collector's issue that was supposed to be carefully produced. Generally, significant mint errors can be seen with the naked eye or low magnification. Anomalies that require the level of magnification you are using in your photos are seldom if at all considered significant. rrantique, ldhair and Henri Charriere
