Hi All, found two Mercury dimes of interest.  The second is a 1943-S which looks to be a: 1943 S Trumpet S.  I am afraid, though, that this coin may be worn to the degree that the "trumpet" feature is misleading.  I hope the more experienced crowd sees the same thing I do!  Thanks in advance!

NCG Varieties Plus:

1943 S TRUMPET S 10C MS

Diagnostics: This style of mintmark has a flared serif at bottom which resembles the bell of a trumpet.

No. This style of "S" with bold serifs is called the "large S" (Cherrypickers' Guide) or "serif S" (VarietyPlus). Per both of those resources, the "trumpet tailed S" looks like this (VarietyPlus photo of 1943-S):

Sandon, thanks for the info.  I figured the mint mark was too flat to provide any indication of what it should/would have looked like 80 years ago.
