1963 Closed AM Lincoln Cent 1 1

I have a 1963 Closed AM Lincoln coin, I have not seen any information about this coin, is it rare?

Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, I cannot be able to speak to the overall rarity of your coin. I can share that I was not able to locate 1963 "closed AM" 1 cent as an NGC recognized variety, You can view NGC recognized varieties here: NGC | VarietyPlus.

The census is a good tool for finding how many of a certain coin type has been graded by NGC. However, if a coin is not attributed with a variety or mint error it will not have a distinct entry in the NGC Census - NGC | NGC Census: Cents.

Thank you for responding, if I were to send this coin to you for grading, and your grader agrees with me that it has a closed AM distinction will it be noted on the label?

IMHO it would be instructive if you show two 1993 coins side-by-side with and without a "closed AM" so that differences can be noted.

Welcome to the NGC chat board. 

The circulation strike coin in your photos is a 1993, not a 1963!  All 1993 cents have a close "AM", so this coin is normal.  

The proof coin in your photos is a 1963, but it has a wide "AM".
