Hello @Coins In Vermont

Thank you for reaching out to us. When you enter a PCGS-graded coin into the NGC Registry, you will use the numbers after the slash.

Beyond this, since NGC is not affiliated with PCGS, I cannot provide any more information on their label. If you have additional questions about the PCGS label, please contact PCGS directly for assistance.

Have a wonderful day!

Regards,

Welcome to the NGC chat board.

The first 4 to 6 numbers on a PCGS holder, which are followed by a period, identify the issue of the coin by date, mint, denomination and any variety. The 2 numbers after the period and before the slash indicate the numerical grade, or if the coin is "details" graded, a code indicating the problem that resulted in the details grade, such as scratches, cleaning, or damage.  The numbers following the slash are unique and constitute the serial number for the specific coin.

NGC's system identifies the coin in an NGC holder by the number from the invoice on which the coin was submitted for grading and (after the dash) the line on the invoice on which the submitter described the coin.
