The Album for 20th Century Coins of the World

Hi to All,

I received this as a gift, and I've looked all over online and have only found a few examples either as an empty album in poor to fair shape, or in poor to fair shape with a few coins still left in the pages.

It has 144 coins in the pages. But when I looked through, about 30-40 coins are actually from the 19th Century.

Im assuming a collector would have placed the coins inside, and the placement of the coins wasn't done by the company that was selling this item?

There are coins from 1800-1820, and a few coins from the mid to late 1950's.

I have no idea what type of value an item like this would have. The Album itself seems as if it's in excellent condition other than a couple of stains on the front and back cover.

Could anyone assist by letting me know when this album would have been produced; if the coins are placed into the album by the collector and all album's coins would be different; and what the value might be?

Thank you so much.

Mike

That is an awesome piece that any world coin collector would be proud to own. Want a suggestion? Try to find the KM # of all of them. The album looks like late 1940’s to early 1950’s vintage to me.

Hi VKurtB,

Thanks for your response and your suggestion, and also when the Album was produced.

I'll definitely research the KM # of each coin as you suggested.

I appreciate your help!

You can try looking them up here

The German states coins you posted should be worth a couple of bucks each unless it happens to be a rare date.  After a  quick glance, my guess is that most of the others will fall into the 50 cent $5 range, but there could always be a rare date or type.  Looking them up will give you a better idea.

These images are from my book Coin Collecting Albums: Volume One, which covers the products of Martin L. Beistle, Wayte Raymond and M. Meghrig & Sons. This album remained in production until the early 1960s.

That album was quickly cloned by Meghrig, and it's the latter that you have.
