JKN58
Have this 1801 and I believe that it is an S-224 variety and possibly very early die state, as it is void of die cracks and rim breaks. From comparing graded coins and auctions, it appears to be VF-XF. Obv has full edge detail and Rev. edge Is almost full. Obv. surface has slight granularity and rev. is smooth. Almost no surface dents or nicks or edge damage. Thoughts from more experienced eyes wanted. Thanks! R__Rash
Just Bob
S-224 looks right, and I like this one as a VF. Not all beat up or corroded like many large cents, I really like the color, and, the granularity doesn't bother me a bit. Nice coin! JKN58
Thanks JustBob! I like that the edges are so distinct. Many I’ve seen seem really worn around the edges.
