Gold Maple Leaf Coin - Possible to grade?

3 posts in this topic

Hi, I was just gifted a gold maple leaf 50 dollar 1 ounce coin from my father. I'm wondering if this is a gradable item, and if so, if it is worth grading for increased value?

My dad also has a collection of silver dollars circa 1915 we're curious about getting graded. The maple leaf is obviously uncirculated, but also any advice about cleaning older coins or where to find forums about that would be appreciated as well.

Thanks in advance!

1.  Yes, the gold coin is gradable.  What year is it?  If it has been bouncing around for awhile unprotected, it may not be worth grading in terms of added value, but may be for proving authenticity.

2. Post photos of the 1915 silver dollars and the folks here can give you advice on whether to submit for grading.

3.  Do not ever clean coins.  Ever.

Welcome to the Forum:applause:

It is gradeable but I don’t think it is worth the cost. It is a 1 oz. gold bullion coin.

Would you post a photo of both sides, depending on the year,  these are highly counterfeited.
