Conservation not done 0

I requested conservation on a recent submission (2869041) and it was not done.  I understand that conservation is not done if it will not improve the coin but looking at the photos online it seems obvious that conservation would be an improvement.  Can you explain why it was not done?

Hello davidar,

Unfortunately, NCS was missed and your were not charged but, when our graders are looking at the coins, they are automatically checking to see if NCS Conservation will benefit the coin and your piece was not flagged.  It wouldn't have made a difference.

Yes, this. Let NGC offer it (NCS), don’t request it. They’ll let you know if it makes sense. Not every ill can be resolved by conservation.
