1939 zinc coated wheat cent

Hello I recently purchased a roll of BU 1943 cents and found this interesting 1939 cent, it weights 3.00 grams. I'm sure its probably some kind of counterfeit, was curious if anyone else has ran across anything like it? I will send it in to be verified, but I thought I'd ask around. Thanks in advance.

Send it in if you want but it will be a huge waste of your money.   Just a heavily circulated (and likely plated) wheat cent worth $.03 for the copper content.

Yep....definitely just a plated cent from a high school or junior college science class experiment.  It's actually considered damaged.  Sending it to NGC would be a waste of money.
