Hello,

What is going on with the glaze?  Obviously, not normal and there are PMD scratches.  Is all this due to the coin getting too hot and "melting"?  If it is all Post Mint Damage, what is an approximate value for the damaged coin?   Thank you so much for the help.  Raegan

Looks to me like someone coated it with a plastic or shellac or some other transparent substance, which is chipping off and wearing through. Given the lost detail visible in the wear-through spots, I would assess its value as once cent or its bullion value, whichever is greater.
