Need Help with another Liberty Head Large Cent

I recently inherited a coin collection from my late brother. Amongst the collection were a dozen Liberty Head Large Cent pieces. One of them has something stamped into it. It's an 1843 with "COLE" stamped into the obverse side. What is the significance of this? How does it affect the value? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a counter stamp I.e. a stamp added after it left the mint. It was somewhat common for the time and was done for varied reasons such as advertisement to silver smiths testing their hallmark. I’m not versed in them and someone may know If this is a meaningful one. David bowers collects them and has wrote a few books on specific ones.

Thank you! I think you're right. The positioning and quality is not so good, but it may help with the attribution. Thanks again for putting another set of eyes on it.
