I want to say someone heated that coin and made it look that way. It's on both sides of coin but opposite sides. Any thoughts would be helpful thanks. Modwriter Posted March 20, 2021 Share Posted March 20, 2021 I'm going to start my own TPG for damaged coins.The Modwriter scale would use the following negative grades from lowest to highest: revolting -20, hideous -30, fugly -40, disfigured -50, awful -60, and the highest grade would be unsightly, a U -70. I would grade this dime a D-50. Disfigured Negative 50. My grading fees would be $1.00 per coin.
