I have a 1972-D Quarter that has what looks like a double die "D" on the obverse. 0

You can’t have DD on that mm as it was hand punched.

It has just taken a hit flattening the letter.

So, is this common, would you consider this to be an error on this coin, I see other coins with D mintmarks and they look nothing like that, I have 2 of these coins and they look about the same.
