Hey guys!

New user and collector here so bare with me. How do you go about telling the difference between a 1957 P business strike coin and the 1957 P proof coin? I’m having a tough time telling the difference between the two.

Well, I ran across some pennies yesterday that looked like they had a layer of bronze poured over them. They looked down right gaudy so I pitched them in a box. Now y'all have me thinking maybe I shouldn't have done that. They look like the bottom pic of the 1957. I reckon I am gonna have to dig them back out.

Cents and dimes are often used in cheap jewelry - plated and polished, etc to be shiny.
