Are these considered error or varieties. Extra stars or extra lettering. I'm trying to research on this but it's only showing  other errors than what I'm looking for. Or is this just common.

These extra stars or letters sometimes found on these coins are usually cause by a hard contact between the edges of two coins.  It works similar to the marks seen on dies when they clash.  One transfers its design to the other.  The key feature of these is that the transferred image is slightly raised instead of incuse.

Ok thanks conder101, is is it common to have a rotated edge lettering. Because I know right side up and right side down is normal. Theses coin are confusing at times lol.

Not sure what you mean by "rotated edge lettering".  If you meaning not positioned in the same place relative to the obv and rev designs from one coin to the next  the answer is yes that's normal.
