No great coin finds today. Today we went bottle-digging. They're building a shopping center on top of a turn-of-the-century dump. Actually this dump is filled with debris from the 1906 earthquake. Unfortunately 98% of what you find is broken, but we did find some nice intact bottles, ceramics, etc. The little white things on the left are bottle stoppers. One bottle says "Dr. Kilman's Swamp Root." Here's a pic of some of the stuff...

Really cool, TJ! What are the 4 round disks on the lower right? Two are white, one is blue-gray and the other is brown. Is there any writing on the little blue bottle near the stoppers?

Can't guess what the disks are for. There's a hole in the back of them. The blue bottle is a Bromo Seltzer bottle. We also found an Edouard Pinaud - Paris bottle that probably contained absynthe or cocaine elixir. Lotsa medicinal remedies in little bottles back then.

yeah, just some wheaties....and nature and babbling brook and chirping birds and serenity. Tomorrow I clean the bottles with CLR and put the better ones in a window.
