Hi, I am fairly new to coin collecting. I started before my grandfather passed away and he left me his collection. I found this while looking through it and am looking to simply try and define whatever is going on.

Yes its an error it's a planchet error however it dosent add much of a premium

Good for you not wanting to sell. lots of people that inherit coins just want to sell them immediately with no regard to their parents or grandparents who left them the coins. It's nice to remember them through coins (or any other inherited item).

Nice for the collection. Sorry to hear about your grandfather. I too recently lost my grandfather right before thanksgiving. When I was younger granddad gave me and my twin a box of coins from everywhere he had traveled. My brother has them now. I may ask him if I can have a look at them again. Thanks.
