Small Date on US 1845 One Cent

I noticed that the date size on my 1845 One Cent is noticeably different than the date sizes on my other one cent coins.  I have included pics of the 1845 which seems small and a 1847 that seems normal.  Sorry, I didn't have another 1845 to compare it to but I figured the 2 years difference was not too bad.

I cannot find any info on a variety for a small date for this coin.  Maybe I am not looking hard enough or maybe I need the collective mind of you all out there.

What do you think?

Date sizes were not consistant on these coins from one year to the next.  After about 1842 the date size is consistent WITHIN the given year for every year except 1857.  The only other variable in the date are the upright and italic 5's in 1855 and 56.

I take that back there are size variations in 1846.  Small, medium, and tall dates.
