Volcano Coins?

The plethora of various random damaged coins got me thinking. Has anyone seen pictures of coins “cooked” by Big Island volcano lava? It might have to be intentional, because getting subsumed would happen quickly. I’m wondering what that much flameless heat might do to coins. Maybe we’ve already seen it in some of these central blister pieces.

I read an article about the coins found during the Pompeii excavation. I don't know much about ancients but found it very interesting.

Neato burrito! I might have expected more damage, and still would expect more damage from clad sandwich coins.
