Fake or replica.

Here is a picture of a genuine 1776 Continental. Compare your coin to this and you will notice the differences.

these were sold at Strawberry Banke, Sturbridge Village, Museums, and most Fourth of July, Old Home Days, and Bicentennial celebrations in New England throughout the mid 1970's. I would not be surprised if they can still be bought in bulk. 

Compare your coin to the picture of the genuine coin above. The circles on yours are less true, your details are not as sharp and the surface on yours is rough and rather sloppy. Typical of the replicas sold at the time.
