Alisha7
I would appreciate if someone could educate me on this 1977 nickel I found. I know circulated coins hold less value, but that's not my concern. I'm trying to determine if this is a double die coin or is it machine stamped? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Actually upon further inspection, there seems to be the same error on the reverse as well in the word. Monticello.

Coinbuf
From only that small area of the coin I would agree this looks like MD. @Alisha7 In the future please show us photos of the entire obv and rev of the coin, it makes it far easier for us to give you a more accurate answer. James_OldeTowne
I agree - common machine doubling / strike doubling / whatever that is common to the era of badly overused dies.
