Fake. We see several most weeks. Not only is it fake, it's a nastily, brutally, obviously cleaned fake.

This is such an obvious fake, one can only assume that the seller was either a novice collector or a crook. Either way, since it is not marked as a copy, when they took your money, they committed a crime. Selling fake coins violates the Hobby Protection Act.

That's $50 too much and an illegal act by the seller. I suspect that if you called the seller and asked for your money back, presenting as an alternative that you might make your next call to the Treasury Department, I wonder if you might get a very quick refund.

Unless it was made before 1973.  The problem is, how to tell then it was made, and being able to prove it.
