kbbpll Posted June 14, 2020 Share Posted June 14, 2020 I see raised metal on the tops of the letters, not doubling. Perhaps someone sees something else. I don't know exactly what causes it - worn out die or something with ejection from the die. I first noticed it on a few of my Franklin halves, such as this.
