Another find in a vintage roll...

A double rim around most of each side and a thick rim the rest of the way.

Also the reverse is... warped, would be the best way to describe it.

Not sure what this is called or how it happens, would love to know!

That was almost certainly once an "encased cent".  This is where a cent is pressed into a surrounding, usually of aluminum, for a lucky token or something of the sort.

Hmmm... well I think microscope images should show some marks from pressure that would cause all this, pressure that didn't come from the original minting... will be interesting to see what kind of images I can get.

I agree with I.cutler, if it wasn't an encased cent in aluminum then it was encased in a bezel. That would explain the flattened rims which could not happen during the striking of the coin.
