Flat square rims on early 1909 cents are not that uncommon, it was the first year issue and tons of these coins were horded so finding early die strikes with sharp rims is more common than other years.  That's why its only one small part of identifying a proof coin from regular issues, the other markers and the overall look of the surfaces are the real key to finding a proof.
