Welcome to the Forum.

For your first post you have asked one of the more difficult (for me anyway) questions. I would have to say no as it appears to me the spreading is from wear and the "U" in Unum has taken a hit. Perhaps one of our Doubled Die experts can offer an opinion

Welcome to the forum.

Compare your picture to the close-up below of a 1968S cent, taken from our host's Coin Explorer. In my opinion, whatever slight difference there may be between the letters in the two pictures could be explained by wear - either coin wear, or die wear.

A tough area to nail down from photos alone, an in hand examination would be needed to say for sure.  However going only by the photos I think this coin looks more like die erosion, again an in hand look might change my opinion.
