Odd US Dime 0

Hi from the comics side of things; the recycler at my wife's job kicked this coin out yesterday (wouldn't accept it as valid currency). It is obviously a dime, but despite appearing thicker, it actually feels much too light when held in my hand. It obviously bears some similarities to a penny (in color on the edge) and appears to be struck oddly/cropped near the rim. The final picture shows it next to a regular dime. Any idea what the deal is with this?
