 your cent has been plated with a ferrous metal 

You can compare how much your coin sticks to a magnet compared to a 1943 cent you will see a difference

Probably been plated but we will need the weight to two decimal points to confirm. Without this we are just guessing.

In the future, please crop your photos, this will help enlarge them.
