What is the weight? (I can't/don't trust color on images.)  Nothing from the style is jumping out at me about beig wrong.  The tops of the 8's are a little distorted but that seems to be correct for this year, the Mintmark is the right style and size.

No, the color cannot wear off a 90% gold coin. I suggest measuring weight and diameter. Probably a fake. Should be 21.65 mm and 8.36 grams.
