I found a wheat penny from 1942 with what I think is a strange color. It weighs 3.408grams, which I thought was heavy, especially because they were looking for alternative ways to conserve copper for the war effort in 1942. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. It has a light lavender toning on the reverse and an overall bright white color.

I'm pretty sure it's just a Copper Wheat Penny 1942 . I have a lot of wheat pennies about 275 to be exact and there all different colors . And i have 54 from 1942 many different colors . As for the weight I'm not sure cause i have no scale . But maybe someone else can confirm it's just a normal wheat penny .

Okay thanks, I noticed something a little different about the seraphs on the word states in the reverse, they curl into themselves at the top of the letter Instead of straight out.
