Hi....I recently opened up a bag of coins my mom gave me after my grandmother passed in 1995.  I found 2 pennies that look like the edges were cut off. What would be the purpose? Just curious.  Thank you!

Sometimes the rim of a cent would be removed to make it the size of a dime too fit in vending machines. That was when you could get something for a dime.
