Look at the edge of this thing. Face looks a little like king George the sixth. A normal dime weighs 2.27 grams while a silver one weighs 2.5. So .30 light is perplexing

Looks like some substance has eaten away the copper core on the edge, leaving the harder and less reactive nickel cladding.

Typical result of an extended acid soaking.  The acid attacks the more reactive copper core to a greater extent than the clad layers.
