Hi to all and a goodnight :).

well today I came across this 1971d .it weight in at 2.9 grams and has like grayish silver color.I'm thinking that it could be Brass? Anyway! All replies and help is welcome.thank you.

Technically, it is brass. All cents minted from 1962 - 1982 were made of 95% copper, and 5% zinc, which is the composition of brass.

Your scale does not read to the hundredths, so we do not know the actual weight to two decimal places, which is necessary to tell if the cent is actually underweight by a substantial amount. Since the tolerance for a brass cent is .13 grams, it could weigh as little as 2.98 grams, and still be within tolerance.
