All I can tell you is that it is Chinese.

There are so many Chinese counterfeits out there that most collectors assume they are fake until proven to be genuine. I'm not saying yours is, but the possibility is out there. Maybe someone with more experience in Chinese coins can add something.

I sure hope so. It was supposed to be a bicentennial. I got this instead. Fixing to take it to Chinese restaurant and ask the owner lol. She should know.

Did a little more digging and I think I might have found your coin.

It is from the China Republic. I think the year is 1940 and is a 10 Fen ( A Fen is the smallest denomination, similar to our cent) It is made of Copper Nickel and there were about 60 Billion minted so I don't think you have to worry about it being counterfeit.
