True, if your not sure, always ask.

I agree that sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference as sometimes the letters are worn or damaged. Here is I what I go by when distinquishing between  CAM and WAM. I don't even look at the AME, I go by the A between the two T's in AMERICA. If the A is centered, it is a WAM, if the A is closer to the right T, then it is a CAM.

 

As you have also shown the initials, that is a third marker that you can go by.

If the initials are far from the Memorial, it a CAM. If they are close as yours are, they are WAM.                                                                    Also notice the difference in the style of the "G"
