Dateless buffalo on penny planchet? Opinions please

I don't think you have a Buffalo on a cent planchet.....that would be the size of a cent and, as a result, it would also be missing portions of the design.  What I think you have is a Buffalo which has some environmental damage of some kind which has turned it that color.  I've seen other Buffalo and Liberty Nickels that look similar to your coin.  I've even gotten Jeffersons from the 1960's and 1970's in change with that same coloration.  Just environmental damage.

That's how nickels look when they've been found in the ground with a metal detector.
