1701 England halfpenny variety attribution (Peck-705)

3 posts in this topic

I have a question about a variety attribution for 1701 England halfpenny (S-3556). This particular coin has inverted “A”s for “V”s on the obverse and inverted “V”s on the reverse and a large “0” in the date. The lettering is clear, so it should be no issue for NGC to verify this attribution. It is not listed in the variety plus database, nor is there currently a graded example at NGC. The variety is also not listed in Spink; however, it is listed in Peck (705). Is this a variety that NGC will attribute? If so, do I simply need to list on the submission form and pay the $15 fee?

Hello,

Thank you for your question.  The variety is listed in edition of Spink, so we will attribute the variety and yes, there will be an additional $15 Variety Plus fee.

Thank you,

Lisa
