Single Squeeze Hubbing ATB Class 4

5 posts in this topic

It's been a long time since anything other then class 8 doubling has been found on the obverse side, of any Quarters . Sure is nice to see something different ( class 4 ) .

Description: Extra thickness and notching shows on IGWT, the mint mark, QUARTER DOLLAR, and slightly on AMERICA.

Here's the link to this DDO . http://doubleddie.com/2422758.html

Great example, if your intent on finding one. What I mean is, if you know what your looking for and have a 10X  loupe in hand, you might find one. Hand me a raw one and ask if there is anything special about this coin, I'd probably have no idea. Nice pictures btw.

What is the official ruling from the variety community on this; are we still operating under the assumption that these doubled dies are actually single squeeze creations? I don't understand how they could be.

As far as I know, single-squeeze is the law of the land. They aren't doing double-hubbing anymore. However, there are clearly still doubled dies.... so, somehow, the single squeeze is making doubles. We just have to figure out how.
