Question about 1975 proof sets

2 posts in this topic

Just out of curiosity, if a 1975 proof set were submitted to a TPG would they somehow designate the quarter, half, and dollar as being 1975?  Just wondering, and yes I know they have little value.

No, as the date on the bicentennial coins are 1776-1976 even though the issue came out a year early in '75. The Eisenhower dollar in this set is known as the "type 1" or "variety 1" bicentennial coin, identified by the block lettering on the reverse which can be noted on the slab, which in turn would identify that coin as being minted in 1975. Note:The type 2 version with thin lettering is packaged in the 1976 set.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong
