Help with a Canadian coin

I picked up an 1881H Canadian one cent.  I can't find anything that has this date with a mint mark.  The H is centered directly under the 1881, is this common or no?

It is. My Krause shows that all 1881 Canadian cents bore the H (Heaton) mint mark, though I suppose it's possible there were error coins that lacked it. I would expect to find it exactly where you describe it.
