Try grading this 1916 buffalo nickel

This coin never circulated, it just flopped around in a plastic flip for decades resulting in a shiny rump and flank.  And so it will probably be graded a 58.  You might refer to a coin like this is an "unc-58” as opposed to 

"au-58" where the coin was actually dumped into circulation for a while.  A coin like this will have uniform even light wear all over the coin and also an even spread of nicks and ticks from banging around with other coins.

I am not suggestion a new grade, just pointing out that there are really two ways a coin plunges into the 58 grade.
