Prooflikes - Just a Bit Off-Center

3 posts in this topic

I recently saw an off-center prooflike Lincoln on Ebay (and later found out it was owned by a CoinTalk member). I was able to adopt it, and it just arrived at its "forever home." It's graded 64PL by old ANACS.

One reason I was so excited to acquire this piece is because he matches my 95D Roosevelt, also PL, and also off-center. I bought this piece a couple of years ago, graded 65PL by old ANACS. I crossed it to NGC and got 66FT.

What is most interesting to me about these pieces is how the struck area is nicely mirrored, but the unstruck area is lustrous. It is a cool effect, looking at the transition from dull to shiny. I hope you enjoy! If you have any off-center PL coins, please post them.
