Just looking for some clarification

7 posts in this topic

I have been out of the collecting world for a while and would like to have some things clarified so please bear with me for a moment.

PQ = Premium Quality?

In terms of early 1960's coins SMS = Special Mint Set?

I know when I started this post I had a bunch of questions but I have drawn a blank at the moment.

The struggles of having a 2 year old begging to play when you are trying to think. grin.gif

Oh well I'll have to try again when my brain decides to work.

Yep. No set standards. It's a judgment call.

Yes, the 1965-67 collector sets made by the mint.

Actuall PCI does give this designation although it alwasy seems that it's for really cruddy or just plain normal coins confused-smiley-013.gif

PCI has used the PQ designation for a long time and it used to mean something. Most of the early green PCI holders that were designated PQ stand a pretty good chance of an upgrade today. Of course, most have already been cracked and upgraded by now.
