Morgan - How much does the carbon spot on reverse hurt???

6 posts in this topic

If I have a choice, I always choose a coin without a carbon spot. The 1881 S being a common date, I would not purchase this coin.

The spot isn't large or super distracting, but on a common date, it will really hurt the sale potential. The grade appears to be 66, as others have mentioned - but I would expect it to sell at the bottom end of the 66 price range (despite having attractive luster and surfaces).
