Sorry -- NARA = National Archives and Records Administration. They store and provide access to all US government records plus the Presidential libraries. Nearly all of the U.S. Mint documents are at various NARA facilities.

Additional checking of 30 volumes of letters sent by Mint HQ has not turned up the volume of correspondence sent to Carson, NV in 1893. I found several book spines for Carson, but they were attached to the wrong books.

 

Thus far - nothing conclusive about 1893 CC dies.

 

Somebody did a fine job of rebinding those! Lord knows what else is mislabeled!
