Aside from those included within the expanded definitions of the Top 100, Hot 50 and Hit List 40, the only VAMs that NGC attributes are those found in the popular book about Carson City Morgan Dollars by Crum, Ungar and Oxman. There is no plan to add more VAMs to the roster.

Morgan dollar varieties have a tendency to be "unstable" so far as designations go. Most clear die varieties are OK, but the content of references such as "VAM 1,000" or "50 Faintest VAMS" changes over time. New discoveries and improved attribution also take a toll on numbering schemes.
