How to Protect Coins from Tarnishing

9 posts in this topic

If you are not familiar with Intercept Technology, pls check out our website; Coin Armour

Intercept is used for the preservation of silver, gold, copper, and bronze coins. It utilizes technology for the prevention of corrosion of coins. The Intercept lining of the bag neutralizes gases in the air which can cause coins to spot, discolor, and tarnish.

Our bags are specifically designed to hold PCGS or NGC slabs. Slabs are not air tight and coins will tarnish inside a slab. See pick below.

The size of the bag fits each slab perfectly. Also our bags have a zipper seal to lock out future harmful gases. Much better protection than a box.

Perhaps it is a new excuse to argue about the difference between toned and tarnished.

Or educate me on if this will stop a toned coin from continuing to change.

There is no difference btw toned and tarnished. The words are interchangeable when it comes to damaging a coin. Intercept will prevent further damage even if a coin has started to tarnish.

I think the opposite product (accelerating toning) would fly off the shelves... just food for thought.

Didja know common date MS65 morgans can sell for $5k with 'tarnish'?
